Into the Unknown
To the sea,
And to the dance.
A fingerpost points,
Mind set to advance.
Heartrate increases,
As car snakes its way.
Into the unknown
On this Autumn day.
Who will they be,
That dance in the sea?
Is this the tribe,
That hunts for me?
Bodies form a cluster,
On shards of dead rock.
A woman appears,
the head of the flock.
I meet and I greet.
I’m one of the group.
Ready to sway,
And ready to swoop.
We talk the small talk.
“Have you done this already?”
I smile, my head shakes.
My nerves remain steady.
“Well yes I have danced,
but not on a beach.”
Into the unknown,
Into the breach.
I survey the clutch,
There are no men at all.
Am I the only one,
Who has answered the call?
We are gathered and welcomed,
And beckoned to stride.
Onto the sand,
With nowhere to hide.
The beach yields to my touch,
And shows where I’ve been.
The dance now is calling,
For us to be seen.
Headsets are grabbed,
By the excited horde.
Will I be lifted,
Or will I be bored?
Black domes enclose sound holes,
To frustrate worlds of noise.
A long breath in,
My senses are poised.
A hang drum proclaims,
The start of the rite.
My eyes are transfixed now.
Wind stirs to bite.
The body sways,
Already entranced.
Then a sirens song,
And into the dance.
Move how you feel,
Was the instruction received.
Autonomous motion,
The outcome achieved.
On this half way house,
Twixt firm and fixed.
All now is movement,
All now is mixed.
The voice is replaced,
by a flute and a horn.
In stereo caves,
Some magic is born.
As the sounds rise and rise,
My limbs disconnect.
The body convulses,
As though it’s been pecked.
A bass drum of power,
Enters the fray.
Sexy and proud,
Eager to play.
The sound is wild now.
My legs comply.
Energy builds.
Soul wants to fly.
Vibration enters my skull,
As though it were fire.
The eyelids begin,
To gimble and gyre.
I am become the sand,
The wind, the sea.
Nature now takes me,
Windward and lee.
It matters not,
For I am the dance.
I’m into my body,
And into the trance.
Ghosts of the past,
Are no longer at heel.
It’s all about love.
It’s all about feel.
I’m taken away,
From the cares of the day.
Tis nought but the moment,
Where I want to stay.
And then...
The dancing is done,
The music has ceased.
The beats have done well,
They’ve released the beast.
It was always there,
Ready to pounce.
All it required,
Was a skip and a bounce.
Am I in love with the world
Or in love with the dance?
Are they one and the same
Or is this happenstance?
Has it changed me,
This trip to the sea?
The tunnel has changed,
This reality.
Would I go back?
Of course, evermore.
My chemtrail is altered,
Re-booting my core.
Will you come with me?
To the dance, to the sea.
We can be free,
Eternally.
