Winner of Innovation Award

Lincolnshire Sport and Physical Activity Awards 2022

In 2022 we held over 40 free-movement hour long dance sessions using wireless headsets, engaging:

  • 400 plus attendees,

  • ages between 5 and 88,

  • people with mental health challenges and long term physical conditions,

  • low income families,

  • inactive people in a cardio workout that may previously have been unresponsive to traditional methods of exercise

Dance Free breaks cultural norms by offering a safe space for people to move freely to music without intoxicants.

Dance Free uses carefully selected music to invoke the desire to move energetically. As the majority of tracks are uplifting, participants feel positive and naturally move in a way that increases their heart rate.

Dance Free actively promotes moving freely to music at home daily for improved mental and physical wellbeing.

Free-movement dance is a creative health solution to improving mental and physical well-being.
